Adding iSiLIVE as a Custom Streaming Service to Zoom

Article updated and procedure confirmed working 2025-08-26 with Zoom Workplace version 6.4.12

If you're using Zoom for remote meetings and making use of eScribe for its meeting management functionality, you can set iSiLIVE as a Custom Streaming Service to broadcast and record meetings as you normally would in any other scenario.

Your eSCRIBE meeting will need to be set to use the Virtual Encoder assigned to your iSiLIVE account. If you don't see this, contact eSCRIBE support to ensure your account is configured correctly.

(Take note that this option is only available to Zoom Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise accounts and the meeting host must have an active Pro license -- Zoom Web -> User Management -> Users)
  1. In your Zoom Account Settings (opens the Zoom web site) click on Meeting and then In Meeting (Advanced).
  2. Scroll down to Allow Livestreaming of Meetings and ensure Custom Live Streaming Service is enabled. If you don't see this option, you'll need to contact Zoom support.

With the current version of Zoom, you'll need to add the "Live Streaming" app to your Zoom client. 
  1. Click on the Apps button at the top of the Zoom application window
  2. Click the Add Apps button
  3. Click the Broadcasting & Streaming Category
  4. Click Live Streaming
  5. Click the Get button (if you see Open, it's already installed in your Apps)
Once in a meeting, the Host may then click the Apps button and select the Live Streaming app. This will open the Apps panel if not already open.
  1. Click the Add Channel Button
  2. Click Custom
  3. Fill out the fields as follows:
    Stream Label: iSiLIVE-eSCRIBE
    Stream Key: <CLIENT_ID>/<STREAM_NAME> (please confirm this information with iSiLIVE Support prior to setup)
    Stream RMTP URL: rtmps://cdnX.isilive.ca/liverepeater/_definst_ (confirm which CDN hostname you should be using with Support as it must match the configuration of the Virtual Encoder assigned to your eSCRIBE meeting)
    Stream Page URL: You can set this to whichever publishing page URL you'd like to direct viewers to. This can be the published meeting in the eSCRIBE publishing portal, or the iSiLIVE endpoint URL that was set up during your implementation, or a page on your website with the embedded player.
    Resolution: Leave this set to 1080p
    Language: Meeting Audio
  4. Click the Save button
When your meeting is in progress and you are ready to start the stream and recording for the meeting archive, please do so in the following order:
  1. Click Start Streaming in the Apps panel. Check your Stream Page URL as you entered above to make sure you're seeing the Zoom video appearing there before proceeding.
  2. Click Start Recording when you're ready in the eSCRIBE meeting interface.
  3. Conduct your meeting as normal. Your agenda items will be timestamped with the recording of the Zoom meeting.
When you're done, please make sure you Stop Recording in the eSCRIBE interface BEFORE you Stop Streaming within the Zoom Live Streaming App.
