An adequate internet connection is the key to a successful live webcast.  The encoder requires direct access to the internet, but access to any internal hosts on your network is not required. If the encoder is to reside behind a firewall, internet access outside of the client firewall will be requested by iSiLIVE.  Depending on the quality of the stream, the allotment of bandwidth may change.  In our experience, usually a dedicated DSL connection will suffice for a single stream.  The internet access point should be within close proximity to the webcast/video switching work station.

iSiLive requires a few network configuration items. The encoder will need to send and receive data on the ports below:

NOTE: These ports are all outbound, NO inbound ports are required to be opened. If you're using SonicWall (or other similar application-specific device that does packet and state inspection), please ensure RTMP/RTMPS and SSH protocols are not blocked for the feedbox. This will prevent the control and broadcast systems from working properly regardless of port availability.
